Disclaimer: I don't own Supernatural that privilege belongs to CW, Kripke and Co, I'm simply borrowing them for a while. I'm not making a profit, this is just for fun and all the standard disclaimers apply.
Sam's stuck on repeat. “Hey, do you remember when...?”
Dean's happy to answer them all, to the point where he's not sure who Sam's trying to reassure. But Sam's looking at him; haunted eyes tear-damp and full of what could have been.
It scares Dean too. Take away his memories and what's left? An empty-shell joker who loves cartoons and playing with guns.
Dean is his family; that's all he has, and all he ever will be. So yeah, Dean will pass on happy, and he'd do it time and time again if it meant he'd forget his brother.
A/N: I loved every moment of this perfectly formed episode!!! It had the perfect mix of humour and heartbreak - and I adored that old school vibe of Mystery Spot. I laughed out loud many times (Dean's "WHHHAAAATTT" and "sucks for that guy" were just two of my personal favourites) and I got teary - there just so many feels. Solid performances, directing, and writing - more please Show!!!! I thought I'd explore Dean's headspace a little here after his passing on happy comment.
